Gruezi,
I have started to fill a spreadsheet on OpenOffice years ago. I then 
transfered it onto LibreOffice Calc spreadsheet and continued to fill it 
up.
Now I have my spreadsheet with 200 rows with 20 colums of data. The 
columns have text, date, currencies, exchange rates, numbers, formulas, 
percentages, address, phone #, zip code, email, web address.
I have filled the data on computers with Windows and then Linux. (the 
date formats are sometimes different 20-4-89 and 4/20/02 ; numbers are 
15,86 and 15.86 ; Rene and Rénà) It is a mess !
I want to use my spreadsheet data to create a database with LibreOffice 
Base. I have managed to create a table and tried to customize it with 
Field type INTER, Decimal, VARCHAR,.... When I copy my spreadsheet 
(maybe some cells are still formatted, I don’t know for sure) and paste 
it into the table, errors messages show up such as “Wrong data 
type:java.lang.NumberFormatException:Character , is neither a decimal 
digit number, decimal point, nor “e” notation exponential mark.” I have 
manually changed the numbers from 13,45 to 13.45. I still get errors.
The reason I want to transfer the data into a database is I want to be 
able to print each Row’s info onto a single paper. My understanding is 
that in order to achieve it,  I first need to transfer my data into a 
table. Then create a form that will use the data which will allow me to 
print only the info of a single row.
Eventually I would maybe like to use this data for a Website. It seems 
there could be « language issues ».
I am asking for some guidance and what is the most efficient way to go 
forward to build the most solid, versatile cross platform database and 
hopefully be able to use the data from the spreadsheet.
